ADHD is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders of childhood. It is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood.  The actions of a person with ADHD may seem to indicate that he or she  isn’t “trying hard enough” to sit still or concentrate, but in many  cases, this person doesn’t have stable neurophysiologic mechanisms  necessary for self-regulating behavior.

It is common for tonsils to get infected by viruses or bacteria (bacterial tonsillitis is  sometimes called strep throat). Tonsillitis is common in children of  all ages and often occurs when children have a cold, with a runny nose and a cough.

Allergic conjunctivitis is when a child's eyes become red, itchy and watery in response to an allergic reaction. The white part of the eye has a membrane (covering) called a conjunctiva, which helps to keep the eye moist.

Adenoids are small tissues located at the back of the throat. Because adenoids trap germs that enter the body, adenoid tissue sometimes swells as it tries to fight off an infection. The swelling adenoids sometimes gets infected.

Generally, bed-wetting before age 7 isn't a concern.  At this age, your child may still be developing nighttime bladder  control. If bed-wetting continues, treat the problem with patience and  understanding.

Ear infections  happen when viruses or bacteria get into the middle ear, the space  behind the eardrum. When a child has an ear infection (also called  otitis media), the middle ear fills with pus (infected fluid). The pus pushes on the eardrum, which can be very painful.

If your child has got a urinary tract infection (UTI), he must have symptoms like burning and pain when your child pees. Urinary tract infection is relatively common in children but most common in girls.

Autism spectrum disorder is a condition related to brain development that  impacts how a person perceives and socializes with others, causing problems in social interaction and communication. The disorder also  includes limited and repetitive patterns of behavior. The word “spectrum” indicates that each individual with autism experiences their  own unique strengths, symptoms, and challenges.

The common cold is a mild infection of your upper respiratory tract (which includes your nose and throat). Colds are probably the most  common illness. Children have more than 2-3 colds per year. Colds are more common in the winter and spring,  but you can get them at any time.

Cough is a very common problem for children. The most common cause of cough is a respiratory tract infection, such as a cold.  Young children usually have six to 12 respiratory tract infections per  year, usually caused by viruses. Antibiotics don't help with coughs  caused by viruses.

A normal temperature in babies and children is about 36.4C, but this can vary slightly from child to child. A high temperature is 38C or more. If your child has a high temperature, they might: feel hotter than usual when you touch their back or chest.
